Are you stuck?
We’ve all been there. Trying to figure out how to shake off the pain of being in a rut can be an uncomfortable experience. We’d all love to avoid it and will look for any excuses.
One of my go-to procrastination tricks? Wait until the perfect day.
You know the drill – I’ll start that project on Monday, or on the 15th, or after payday or when I get back from vacation. Or, the ultimate blank check: I’ll make it a New Year’s Resolution.
Why lose weight or stop of bad habit on a Wednesday in the middle of the year when I can do it on January 1?
Enough of that.
Starting is about starting now. In August. On a Monday, or a Tuesday, or whenever. At 8:18 a.m. or 4:37 p.m.
The difference is forgetting all the missteps, mistakes and false starts you had in the past and not worrying about how you may mess up or misstep again in the future.
Every day you have is your New Year’s Day, if you decide it’s going to be a New Year for you.
The present is always present and it’s always there ready for you to make it yours.
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” – Matthew 6:34 MSG
